Types of Supply Chain

There are two types of supply chain; External and internal.

External Supply Chains

These supply chains involve any external areas, such as other companies, and the relationships formed with the customer via marketing and sales as well as the suppliers through the purchasing of the goods. This supply chain is vital as it allows the whole supply chain to work to its maximum effectiveness.

Internal Supply Chains

This type of supply chain deals with the functions, departments and business units within the organization.
