Collaborative Relationships

For collaboration between two supply chain firms to succeed, mutual trust remains essential (USA. University of Tennessee, 2013). Ever challenging economic climates and heightened competitive pressures mean that companies drive to change their business strategies constantly. In addition to globalisation, supply chains now involve more companies as well as contending with expanding products (IBM 2009).

IBM (2009) state that there are now five main challenges to supply chains;

  1. Cost Containment,
  2. Supply Chain Visibility,
  3. Risk Management,
  4. Increased Customer Demands,
  5. Globalization
